The NLCC provides exciting and challenging opportunities through various cadet-training programs and events. Cadets wear a uniform and are awarded badges and ribbons through successfully completed training, testing and participation in various events.

In addition to Basic and / or Advanced Boot Camp training, cadets take part in many other special events throughout the year, such as regional Flagship Competitions, seamanship training, military memorial services and Pearl Harbor Day ceremonies at the Battleship Texas near the San Jacinto Monument.
